Sapphire Blue realised her love of dance when she began learning various styles like Traditional African dance, Hip Hop, Funk and Ballet at a very young age. As she discovered her love affair with the limelight, Sapphire Blue also tried her hand in acting and found herself touring nationally in theatre plays for High schools which led her to becoming a children’s theatre coach on the North Coast of NSW. Since moving to Sydney Sapphire Blue has completed a 1 year course at The Actors Centre and also starred in short films by Sydney’s new wave of Directors. To enhance her creative expression she has also become a certified make up artist which has proven to be perfect for her sassy Burlesque shows. Sapphire has performed Burlesque at night clubs such as Sugartime “Scarlett debut”, Ruby Rabbit private party for JR7 and Lordz of the Fly, Candy’s Apartment Rockabilly night, Trademark Hotel private party and Toni and Guy hair show. Not to forget performing with students from her weekly class at Tour de Dance 6,7, 9 and 10 in Sydney’s most prestigious theatre’s. She has also appeared in various MTV advertisements and video clips for Hip-hop duo Lordz of the Fly. Most recently, Sapphire has created her very own style “Bootyesque” a fusion of old school Burlesque and new school Booty dance. Mz Blue’s love of the Hip Hop culture is apparent in her classes and shows. She also fuses this love with the old skool glamour of Josephine Baker, Betty Page and Nina Simone. Sapphire teaches regular classes at Dance Central and most weekends are spent sharing the love of Burlesque at various hens parties and corporate shows. Sapphire’s aim is to fill her classes with giggles and good times, ladies will spend the hour learning controlled dance moves that make the most of their womanly assets, at the end of the class you will have had so much fun you wont even notice the workout you have had!! so, what are you waiting for…
