Rahul is from Punjab (India), the state from which the famous dance Bhangra (the most popular style in Bollywood) originated. He has been dancing since the age of 6, where he started performing on stage in school and became the Captain of the school Bhangra team. In college he was again selected to be Captain of the Bhangra team which won several prizes in youth festivals as well as first prize on a famous national T.V. dance program. He has also performed in various video film clips for popular Punjabi singers. Rahul started coaching and training Bhangra at the age of 15 in various schools and colleges, and because of his guidance, these teams became champions in many competitions. He eventually trained his own team which became the Inter-College, University and National Champions in 2004. He moved to Sydney in 2008 and started as a professional Bollywood Bhangra trainer. Because of his expertise and talent, he has been featured or offered placements in international commercials and various documentaries as a representative of Indian dance culture. Rahul also specialises in other dances of Punjab like Jhoomar, Malwai Gidha, Sammi, Jindua etc… He is also a dance trainer in the Chankatta, which is affiliated with various Indian cultural events.
